Multi-truck crash injures four on New Jersey Turnpike
Whether traveling during the morning or afternoon hours, drivers are often in a rush to either get to work or return back home. During these commutes, travel times can get extended due to rush hour traffic or accidents. When a large accident occurs, there are not only delays but there could also be some road closures. Vehicles traveling during these times should watch their speeds and be extra attentive in order to avoid being in an additional accident.
A recent truck collision occurred on the New Jersey Turnpike and caused major delays. The multi-vehicle crash involved two tractor-trailers as well as a box truck and a pickup truck.
Emergency crews responded to the accident and assessed all those involved in the collision. According to reports, four people were injured and one of them was found to be in serious condition. The driver of the box truck was seriously injured and his son, who was a passenger in the vehicle, suffered injuries to his legs and head.
It is not clear at this time what caused the accident and authorities are investigating the truck accident in order to determine cause and if any driver or drivers were at fault. If it is determined that one of the drivers was negligent and caused the collision, they could face civil liabilities. Those that suffered injuries could file a personal injury claim. This could allow the injured parties to recover compensation in order to cover the expenses associated with the accident. Most often the award will cover medical bills and other damages including lost wages and pain and suffering.
No matter the size of the accident, drivers and passengers can be seriously injured in a truck accident. Those that are affected by the incident should understand their rights and options when it comes to recovering and receiving compensation.
