Car accident on Garden State Parkway results in serious injuries

New Jersey residents understand the frustrations that go along with early morning and afternoon commutes. Major roads can be the best routes to get to their destination but they can also be the source of huge delays and traffic when a car accident occurs.

Rush hour traffic encompasses the prime ingredients to cause a collision or wreck. Drivers are in a time crunch to get to their destination and they often they are on their phones. Talking on the phone or texting while driving is very dangerous and can be the culprit of numerous automobile collisions.

Garden State Parkway was closed and traffic was backed up around 20 miles on the southbound side of the roadway following a recent accident. Authorities responded to a collision that involved at least two vehicles. The crashed occurred around 4 p.m. near Clark. Emergency responders assessed the victims involved in the wreck and it was reported that at least one person suffered serious injuries. That person was airlifted to the hospital for treatment.

Police are still investigating the accident and preliminary findings indicate that the cause of the collision might have been due to a vehicle rear-ending another automobile. There has been no indication of negligence or liability at this time. When a person suffers injuries in a collision due to the negligence of another driver, that driver might be liable for those injuries. The injured party could file a personal injury claim seeking compensation to cover the expenses that resulted from the accident. Medical bills, rehabilitation, lost wages, damages and pain and suffering could be covered by the suit.

Sometimes when drivers are in a rush, all they think about is getting to their destination. Drivers should focus on the vehicle ahead of them and make sure they are a safe distance away from them. Drivers should also watch their speeds and use caution when changing lanes.
