Uber Driver Points Gun at Passengers – “Uber Knows It Has a Problem”
When you get in an Uber, you never expect to end up at gunpoint. But that is what happened to Miami rapper Krissy Celess and her friend this week. The Uber driver pointed a gun at them in a wild moment captured on video, which has subsequently gone viral on social media and in the press. Fortunately, Celess and her friend were not physically injured.

What started as a routine ride spiraled into terror.
“I truly thought I might never see my 4-year-old son again,” Celess told Miami’s WSVN.
“There is a systemic problem of Uber riders having their safety and well-being compromised at the hands of Uber drivers,” said attorney Justin L. Drazin, founder of UberHurtMe.com, a resource for people who have been injured during an Uber ride. “Uber knows it has a problem, yet it continuously fails to implement more comprehensive driver-screening protocols – repeatedly putting sales over safety.”
The New York Post reported that, according to Celess, the trouble started when she leaned forward to tell the driver that their left turn was coming up. She said the driver responded, “You don’t have to tell me—I have GPS.” Celess then remarked that the driver’s eyes “looked wild.”
“It just escalated so quickly,” Celess said. “I was focused on the gun.”
The driver pointed the gun at them, screaming, “Get out of my vehicle now! You’re no longer in the ride!”
Uber issued a statement calling the incident “extremely concerning.” Celess and her friend are suing the company.
