New Jersey truck driver dies in I-95 crash

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, claimed the life of a Trenton man on Jan. 15. The accident took place south of the Street Road exit in Bensalem at approximately 1:15 p.m.

According to authorities, traffic was slowing in the right lane of I-95 near the exit when a Volvo tractor-trailer smashed into the rear of a Nissan Murano. The impact sent the Volvo into the center and left lanes where it was hit by a second tractor-trailer. The Volvo then hit the guardrail and overturned. Two other cars were also caught up in the accident.

The 58-year-old driver of the second tractor-trailer was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Authorities report that there were several others injured in the accident, but details have not been released.

Northbound I-95 was shut down for several hours as crews cleared the scene. No criminal charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation.
