New Jersey officer provides medical assistance to injured worker

When an accident happens, those victims hope to have adequate help and medical assistance in order to properly recover from any injuries suffered. When a person is injured on-the-job, the employee hopes to recover compensation for their injuries based on issues with health and safety in the work environment. This not only helps the injured with medical bills and lost wages but it also often result in an investigation of the workplace in order to find the cause and make the environment safer for other employees.

A New Jersey State Trooper recently assisted and saved the life of a construction worker after receiving a medical call around 3 p.m. The officer located the man who was lying down on Garden State Parkway at a construction site. Preliminary reports indicate that the worker had a large wound in his chest that went down his chest plate. This cut occurred when the worker was using a chop saw and accidently cut himself.

The officer that aided the man was able to apply pressure to the wound that was causing him to lose blood quickly. This assistance essentially saved the construction worker’s life. He was transported to the hospital for medical treatment and reported to be in fair condition.

The workplace accident is still under investigation. Factors such as training, safety equipment and the health and safety standards for the work site will be considered. The injured employee could file for workers’ compensation for the injuries he suffered. This would offset the cost of medical bills, rehabilitation, lost wages and damages.

Suffering an injury at work can be life altering. An injury could be so severe that the worker may not be able to return to work right away. Lost wages not only impact the worker but could also affect their family members. Understanding the necessary paperwork and steps to recover compensation for workplace injuries is crucial and a qualified professional could provide beneficial guidance.
